23 pacific northwest breweries
I started recording all of the breweries that Casey and I went to this year! Here is a list of all of the breweries we’ve visited in the first 6 months of 2020. One of our favorite things to do when we explore somewhere new or visit an old favorite town is drink some local beer. Even with COVID slowing down our plans, we were still able to visit 23 breweries! They are listed below in the order that we visited them.
Chuckanut Brewery - Bellingham, WA
a great place for a relaxed afternoon tasting flight. we didn’t try the food but it looked and smelled delish.
Aslan Brewing Co. - Bellingham, WA
this place is just plain cool with multiple seating options and the food is top notch.
my favorite spot on Capitol Hill that makes me feel like a “cool city gal”. It is on the more expensive side but that’s what you get when you’re being cool in the city.
7 Seas Brewing - Gig Harbor, WA
a local favorite in the South Sound - no food here, but you can bring your own in!
Wet Coast Brewing - Gig Harbor, WA
another BYOF (bring your own food) brewery in the South Sound. Wet Coast has the best cream ales around.
Lost Woods Brewing - Bonney Lake, WA
don’t judge this one from the outside, the inside is pretty cool and the beer is unique. I tried a peppermint porter and can’t wait to get it again in the holiday season.
Half Lion Brewing Co. - Sumner, WA
the inside of this place is SO COOL - old logging town chic - yes, that’s a thing now. they have outdoor games and fire pits too. BYOF here!
Pfriem Family Brewers - Hood River, WA
lordy lordy, the food and beer here… my stomach literally growled as I typed this. if you like dark beer, you need to try some of Pfriem’s.
Ferment Brewing Company - Hood River, WA
a modern upstairs brewery near the Columbia River. more dark and delicious beer. They also have a restaurant attached but we were in the bar!
Full Sail Brewing Co. - Hood River, WA
a staple in Hood River, this brewery has a fabulous view of the Columbia River and indoor and outdoor seating. classic beer, classic food, great view - sounds like a good combo to me.
Double Mountain Brewery - Hood River, WA
if you are lucky, this brewery might have awesome live music. you need to try their pizza and they have some of my favorite barleywine ever. no televisions here, which isn’t a big deal but we were there on Super Bowl Sunday so I feel like it should be mentioned.
The Pike Brewing Co. - Seattle, WA
In the heart of Pike Place Market, this is a MUST VISIT for tourists and locals alike. we all ordered too much food so think about sharing!
Dystopian State Brewing Co. - Tacoma, WA
this is a cool location in downtown Tacoma. This is a BYOF brewery and a great place for get-togethers; there was a baby shower and a birthday party happening when we were there last time!
McMenamin’s Elks Tacoma - Tacoma, WA
McMenamin’s are the coolest. they revive older buildings into bars and restaurants and sometimes hotels. Their Ruby Ale is a favorite and I have loved everything I have ever eaten at any of them.
my favorite hang in Spokane. It is right on the river with fabulous food, fabulous beer, fabulous environment, and an arcade. you cannot go wrong with No-Li.
Brick West Brewing Co. - Spokane, WA
this is a newer brewery in Spokane and I really liked it. a very open space with large openings to the outdoors - perfect for those warm Spokane nights.
Silver City Brewery - Silverdale, WA
the shrimp scampi fettuccini and firecracker wings are to die for. I know I should be talking about beer but it is one of my favorite meals ever. the beer is great too but you just need to try for yourself.
Tamarack Brewery - Lakeside, MT
this brewery on Flathead Lake is a favorite for Montana locals and visitors. The food is really large portions and the ambience is relaxing.
Bonsai Brewing Project - Whitefish, MT
this place has fun beer - fun and delicious beer. there was an ice cream sandwich one that was insanely good. Also they make gourmet hot dogs, which I love.
Backslope Brewing - Columbia Falls, MT
I did not need to eat any more food when we got here but it looked so good we had to order some! The garlic fries are the best I have ever had and the beer is right up there as well.
Sacred Waters Brewing Co. - Kalispell, MT
I really loved this location. there was indoor and outdoor seating and it was connected to a restaurant, a winery, and a small grocery store. everything you could ever need!
an absolute perfect pit stop over the pass!
Barhop Brewing - Port Angeles, WA
I’m a little biased since my boyfriend Casey helped create some of the pizza recipes here but you need to have a Barhop pizza and beer if you are visiting Port Angeles, WA. The margherita and curry ones are my favorites
