my migraine must haves

MIGRAINE WARRIORS - THIS ONE IS FOR YOU

I get migraines, a lot. It is terrible.

If you know you know.

I don’t talk about this too often because I don’t want to feel like I’m whining but those who are prone to migraines know, this is no joke. My migraines usually last a full day and no matter what I do, they do not go away but the products listed help ease the pain.

I am not a doctor and you should always consult a professional when looking at medicine, supplements, etc.

  1. Excedrin - Like I said, I’m not a doctor. This is the most effective migraine pain reliever in my experience. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to pain relief but this is MY go-to. Make sure you are eating and drinking fluids if you are taking pain relief pills. From my own experience, there are times when I absolutely do not want to eat when I have a migraine but Excedrin works so much better for me when I actually eat something with it.

  2. Soothie or Ice Pack - This one is the big one for me! One of my favorite purchases ever was a Soothie. A Soothie is like an old-fashioned rice pack but it is not made with rice! It can be heated in the microwave for warmth or put in the freezer to use to cool down. I keep mine in the freezer and pull it out any time a migraine or headache is bothering me. Sometimes I need even more extreme relief and fill a freezer bag with ice and put it on my head. It works but it also melts.

  3. Jade Roller - Similar to an ice pack, a cooling sensation really can ease the pain. A jade roller also helps with lymphatic drainage. Rolling it on my face and on my temples serves as a quick moment of relief.

  4. Coke - It might be placebo or it might be real but Coca-Cola sometimes helps. Caffeine can help with migraines but you also do not want too much caffeine! Migraine days are a total balance between caffeine and hydrating fluids for me.

  5. Water - DUH. Honestly, no matter what is wrong with you, people tell you to drink some water. It is annoying but you need it. Sometimes I am nauseous with my migraines and I don’t even want to think about putting anything in my body.

  6. Peppermint Halo Saje essential oil - I do not think essential oils can fix your life, but this one is a god send! I’ve tried so many essential oils and have not gotten results from most, but Saje’s essential oils are NEXT LEVEL. Peppermint halo oil has a cooling sensation that eases pain. It definitely doesn’t take away my migraines most days but it can help on a regular headache day. Put it on your temples, across your forehead, and on the back of your neck.

I think each of these are absolute must haves for those who suffer from migraines. They might not take the pain away completely, but they can help!
